Now What?
Ok so I know I have not bloged in forever but to really think about it I have had nothing big and cool to blog about......until now! I AM A MARATHONER!!!!!!!! Wow so the first one is in the books and I can say that I finished it but what I can't say is that I am happy with my time. I wish I would have ran faster walked less and even hurt less but I didn't and I never let that stop me from finishing the race that I had worked so hard for. I feel a little empty kind of now because 26.2 mile just does not seem far anymore. So what is next well I plan to work hard and be stronger and get that time down, then I will work on doing ultras and then maybe someday be where Kathy and Ken are a be running 100 miles. (WOW)
Ok So about my marathon, I ran most of the way the Deon and we were running at a good pace, we were going to slingshot it in. (laughing now to myself). I beat my half marathon time by mins. and then my knees where killing me. Oh I don't think that I have ever hurt that bad in my life. Then it was Jenks and I seem to not hurt as bad. I might have picked up the pace some. Then the next thing I knew I was at mile 18 and eating some beans(haha) this is where I saw Ed. I ran with him for awhile and then starting talking to I guy that was from OKC and it was like his 26 or 29th marathon and he had just ran the Mother Road the weekend before, and he was still kicking my butt. And then all of a sudden the pain in the knees was back. I knew I was getting blisters on my left foot and some on the right, and the hills were still ahead of me. my plan of attack was to speed walk up the hills and then run down and between the hills, and for the most part that is was I did. But for some reason I still could not make up for the time that I had lost to walk just a few 1/4 miles. Then when I got out to the main streets again this cop told me that it was all down hill from there and I was almost, I wanted to believe him about the down hill part but I knew it was not true. Just one big hill and one little tiny hill and then it would be smooth sailing into the finish line. At this piont in time my pain was almost gone and I knew were I was to the finsih line, nothing was going to stop me now........... Then tatur Dave was setting near the last turn yelling and cheer the last little bean in. I finished what I set out to do and that was run a marathon before I die. Now I will just have to work on my time and get it down.
I would like to say thank you to Kathy, Brian, Candice, and everyone that has cheered all the runner's world group on and put so much blood and tears into our training.

What a weekend!
So I was a little upset that I didn't get to do the Tulsa Run this year. I really wanted to but UCO's homecoming was the same weekend and we have friends that just moved back to Oklahoma and were going to go and see them but as everyone knows things always change at the last min. and so I didn't get reg. in time to run. I didn't even get to run very much. (Boo for me) But my boyfriend took his certification test for his pilot's lic on Sunday and passed. (Cheers for him). I also had to work on Sunday, so I could be there for our mock marathon and I am so ready to kick that 22 mile's gultes. Hope to everyone on Tuesday night and congrats to everyone that ran the Tulsa Run!!

Run Kim Run
For all that are in the marathon running group, I am very proud of you all for making it the 20 miles that we run. I guess I'm ok with my time I would have loved to have been a little faster but I will take it and be proud. I must say that I the first time in my life that I thought I was going to show my running team my GU (that is coming out of my mouth) but hey it never happened so I guess thats always a good thing. I might have to work the weekend that we run the 22 mile, but hopefully I can get off. Thank you for all the support and help that everyone does. Hope that you all had a great weekend and see you guy in a few.

Look mom I'm flying
Ok as you might have seen, I was not there on Tuesday night for the run. I went for another plane ride with the boyfriend on a cross country night flight. I had a great time besides the fact that the ipod was not working. But it was a wonderful night for it. I also signed up for the full marathon now and that is a very frightful thought. But my thinking was if I can make it through 18 miles I should be able to get the rest of the way.

Another for the books!
Well I have done something that some of my old co-worker thought that I would never be able to do and that is run 18 miles. I must say the first 2 laps seemed pretty good almost easy but half way through that 3rd lap things were getting hard. I just think I my body had been running for so long that it didn't know how to stop. But with the help of a friend she helped me push on. And we finished the 18 miler, and I now have to say that I am pumped for that 20 mile run. All day Saturday and even Sunday I was very tired. I didn't hurt to much after a few hours of semi-relaxing but I was sleepy. Which now has me worried about the marathon, I might have to work the next and teach p.e. to home school kids, that might be the worst day of my life!! I don't know if I will be there on Tuesday but for those who will be it should be nice weather for you and good luck.

Oh the thought of yester-years
Ok I do know that I am 24 now and a college grad, but man do I miss not having to go to work everyday and to goof off on week nights. I am stuck a work again and maybe it would not be so bad if I didn't have to be here until 9:00pm of later during the week, But hey I guess the bills still have to get paid. I am getting a little pumped for the 18 mile run on Saturday, it will be the longest that I have run in my short little life, it will be tough but I hate to give up on anything so I will still put one foot in front of the other and log the miles. I am very thankful for my awesome running group and I don't think that I could run as far as I have and as well as I have with out you guys. So THANK YOU!!!! I still have not reg. for the Rt. 66 marathon yet but that day will come after the 18 miler. Let's hope that this long run feels better then the last. Good Luck to you all. See you bright (or dark) and early in the morning. Rest up tonight

One busy weekend
I must say that I had a great time this weekend but I was so busy that it flew by. On Saturday I had a 5k run in my home town, and it started out chilly, but I made it through and I had a PR. I run the 5k in 26 min and 56 sec. not only that I now have my first age group placing. I was 2nd in the 20-24 females. I was pretty pumped the rest of the day on those two things. Then Sunday my boyfriend and I went to the lake with my dad for one last ride in his boat. Now this boat is pretty big, it is about 13 feet high, 10 feet wide and about 30 feet long. They had never put it in the water, the guy that put on the new motor launched it for them and they just kept it in a slip at the lake cause of it begin so big, so that being said they have never taken it out of the water either. So Andrew, I and my dad and stepmom had to load this boat with no way but the power of the boat and Andrew and my step mom pulling with a rope and me keeping it from floting off, and my dad trying it give it just enough power while not giving it too much, and really it was not that bad and went pretty smoothly. I will be there on Tuesdays and Thursday so I can get all of my miles in this week. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

WOW What a Run!!
Tuesdays run could not of had better weather, I loved it. I was the only one there for the Team Bean (poor Deon had to work another 12 hour shift, we really need to talk with his boss). I don't know if it was becase of the weather or cause I have a 5k race on Saturday in my home town but I have to say that my run felt great, I was a little tight in the glute/hamstrings area but after a half mile or so it got better. I will not be there for our run on Thursday night either it's the boyfriends birthday, so I get to make that run up. Good Luck to all with their training and I will saw you on Tuesday

Ultra half marathon WOMAN
I am not new to the running of the ultra-half marathons but I thought that since Saturday we got to run 16 mile (or more like 16.66 miles) I would now claim to be one. I am still hurting but only just a little bit. So Tuesday night run could be a struggle for me. We did get luck and missed to rain. But luck me got to drive in it on the way to and from Edmond for my brother's 30th birthday. Hope to see all of you on Tuesday's run

Ground Control to Air Control
Ok so I was a bad girl last night and I skipped a training run (I will make it up on Friday) but I had an offer I could not refuse. My boyfriend is getting his pilot's lic. and he had to do a night flight last night and asked if I wanted to come along. Well of course I would never pass on a chance to have an adventure. We flew into Tulsa International and did a couple of touch and goes and some complete lands, and did the same at the Riverside/Jenks airport so I got to see were we run from the air. I had a wonderful time. Sorry to all that missed me during the run, I will be there on Thursday (hopefully not in the rain)

Running in the Rain, just running in the rain
I have always liked running in the rain, for me it just sets the mood. Todays run was no different. I was not sure if I would be able to get all 9 miles in and still make it to work on time but it was done. With time to spare. Today felt tons better then the 14 mile run until after I was done and the cold rolled in, then the knees felt it just a little. I am still looking forward to the longer runs that wait for us ahead.
